Microsoft Forecaster Training

The MSX Group provides the following training options for Microsoft Forecaster 7.0. Classes are led by Microsoft/MSX Group Certified Instructors. Each Instructor/Consultant has over ten years of experience working with Microsoft Forecaster. Collectively, MSX personnel have implemented Forecaster at more than 1,200 sites worldwide and trained more than 5,000 students.

Introduction to Microsoft Forecaster – Executive Training

This six-hour hands on Forecaster training course utilizes a scenario-based approach to learning Forecaster. The class is based on the Microsoft Essentials I curriculum, but in abbreviated form, designed to provide maximum instruction without a large time commitment. Students will walk through the process of creating a multi-location budget solution using Forecaster. These exercise driven steps include application setup, importing accounts and historical data, creating rollups and the verification of data import. The class includes creating expense budget templates, human resources and capital expense setup. Students will also be given an overview of security and basic reporting.

Class Fees: $395/attendee

This Forecaster training course is ideal for people who are:

  • Considering Microsoft Forecaster as a budgeting solution
  • Responsible for the setup and administration of their company budget
  • Microsoft Forecaster consultants
  • New to a company and have inherited an existing Forecaster implementation
Register

This course is primarily offered as an online virtual training course. An MSX Group Certified Instructor will lead the class. Attendees will be able to view the instructor’s screen while simultaneously working in their own personal environment. At the completion of this six hour class, the attendee may submit a certificate of completion for 5 hours of CPE credit.

Microsoft Forecaster 7.0 Essentials I – Setup and Input

This two day hands on Forecaster training course follows a comprehensive, scenario-based approach to learning Forecaster. Students will follow a best practices approach and implement a multi-location budget solution using Forecaster. These steps include application setup, importing accounts and historical data, creating rollups and the verification of data import. The completed solution includes modeling of revenue, expense, human resources and capital expense. Students will be given an overview of security and the setup of groups, users, assignments and workflow.

This Forecaster training course is ideal for people who are:

  • Responsible for the setup and administration of their company budget
  • Microsoft Forecaster consultants
  • New to a company and have inherited an existing Forecaster implementation

Register | Course Outline

This course is currently offered only by specific request as an online virtual training course or onsite. Attendees will receive a training manual and an installation cd. The attendee will install the application locally. An MSX Group Certified Instructor will lead the class through the manual during the two-day class schedule. Classes may be conducted using GoTo Meeting for screen sharing to allow attendees to view the instructor’s screen. At the completion of this two-day class, the attendee may submit a certificate of completion for 14 hours of CPE credit.


Microsoft Forecaster 7.0 Essentials II – Reporting

This two day hands on Forecaster training course builds on the completed budgeting solution created in Forecaster Essentials I. Focusing heavily on reporting capabilities within Forecaster, students will create a series of presentation quality reports that include various income statements, variance, consolidating, side by side, multiple segment and detail reports. Students will be exposed to report debugging and maintenance as well as advanced formatting tips and tricks.

This Forecaster training course is ideal for people who are:

  • Responsible for reports within Forecaster
  • Graduates of the Forecaster Essentials I Class (although not required)
