Microsoft Forecaster 7.0 has built-in functionality for translating currency according to exchange rate schedules. The process works smoothly while working in Forecaster during a budget cycle. The translation can be run by a user as a Task or the translation can even be set to automatically translate balances from one currency to another every time a budget manager clicks the save button on an input screen. In addition to translating account balances between currencies, Microsoft Forecaster can also translate balances for Line Item Details, Human Resources Details, Capital Detail, Revenue Detail and even from the Corporate currency to the Local currency – all quickly and efficiently.

Of course, several items need to be setup in Microsoft Forecaster 7.0 in order for the currency translation to properly convert balances. The Forecaster Administrator will need to setup Currency ID’s, Exchange Rates and AutoTranslate Options… but setup does not stop there. There are at least five other items that need to be setup in Forecaster. This article details all of the items needed to properly setup Microsoft Forecaster 7.0 to handle currency translations and work correctly with Microsoft FRx when using Forecaster balances in FRx reports.  On the right-hand side of the screen, there is a link for the PDF detailing the Currency Translation setup and another for the Checklist for Currency Translation in Microsoft Forecaster 7.0
